I have been searching for a new way to market digital art just as traditional forms of art are. The problem that exists with digital art is the amount of ease in making a perfect reproduction. It causes digital art to lose its value. Sure we could all begin making fine art using the digital medium, and sell a very limited amount of reproductions, but who is to stop the consumer from sharing the image for free? All forms of digital media have suffered from this problem due to the unmonitered wilderness we call the internet. The music and movie industries have been on a gradual decline ever since the birth of Napster.

I believe the best option we have is to completly do away with the internet, and create a second more secure one. In order to create a website, the creator must register it under his or her legal name, so that it becomes their legal responsibility. In doing so, it would cut down on sites such as torrent distributors and other forms of media sharing, consequently putting a real criminal face on internet pirates. Internet users would also be required to have an official identity. Certain activities would be flagged and recorded (and no I'm not talking about how much time you spend looking at porn). Killing methods of file sharing is key to making files feel like the actual products that they are.

Let me know what your thoughts are on this issue.

thank you! i havent really had traditional art training yet such as figure drawing .. our hs art teacher just gave us open ended assignments and let us learn through experimentation. my hopes are to improve my drawing skills so that I can utilize them using the digital medium.

Good luck. All I can say is draw, draw, and draw. I know it sounds cliche but it's true, the more you draw the better you get, and the new things you learn. For the longest time I drew cats and dogs with dew claws on their hind legs, before I finally found out they didn't have any. Little things like that really help improve your work.

Thank you for your comments.
I would like to put his name but since it was 3 years ago, besides I didn't take a note of the artist's name...so I think I would delete it from my gala & make it as my personal reference

cheers
